The yarn in this shawl has been patiently waiting for me to find the right design. Keeping the design simple let the colors shine through. The edging adds a little something to the triangular design, but in this piece the colors are the stars. It looks great over black or navy of course - but it's also hot over bright colors like magenta or cranberry and even pastels in the blue or green family. The weight is perfect for fall/spring days or for those overly cold offices. (Why does every office building in existence keep the air set on refrigerate? )
The yarn is 100% wool that I have no clue when or how I came to possess. The tag said that it was spun into existence in Wales. Since I've never been there I'm guessing it was purchased in the US. Probably Kansas City, MO or Monterey, CA. It's a beautiful, airy wool that feels suburb - not itchy. It's also warmer than you might think. Wool is sneaky like that.
